Murray MacLean
Holland was born in Marquette,
MI to Canadian Parents. As the son of a Canadian Air Force officer, he spent most
of his life criss-crossing North America finally settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Holland attended the University of Manitoba where he studied guitar with Paul
Hammer. Upon completion of his studies, Holland returned to the USA to study for
a Master's Degree in Arts Administration at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory
of Music. While at CCM he studied guitar with Clare Callahan and subsequently
received a Master's Degree in Classical Guitar Performance as a full scholarship
recipient.
Holland is currently on the
faculty of the University of Cincinnati College of Evening and Continuing Studies,
the Campus at Large Program, and the Classical Guitar Summer Workshop at CCM.
He performs regularly as both a soloist and chamber musician.
Duane
Allen Corn began studying guitar with Italian born guitarist Renato
Butturi in the early 1980's. He continued under the tutelage of Butturi at the
University of Evansville where he received a B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance
and a B.M.E in Music Education. Upon graduation from the University of Evansville,
Corn attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. There,
He was a student and teaching assistant of Clare Callahan. Corn received a Master's
Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from CCM in 1993.
Corn is currently on the
faculty of Oakland City University in Indiana, Brescia College and Kentucky
Wesleyan College in Northern Kentucky, the Classical Guitar Summer Workshop
at CCM, and Music at Maple Mount, a summer institute for young musicians.
Corn has performed in masterclasses
with Christopher Parkening, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, David Russel, Oscar Ghiglia,
John Holmquist and Robert Guthrie.
An active soloist, Corn has
made numerous radio, solo and orchestral appearances throughout the mid-west.
